HealthyStart Rwanda
Research is simply the process to learn about possible solutions to important health problems. The HealthStart research will deliver care and interventions to reduce the number of children in the community who have stunting. This study has been reviewed and approved by the Rwanda National Ethics Committee(RNEC) as well as other relevant health authorities, ensuring that it meets ethical and scientific standards.
Our project brings together experts from multiple disciplines to tackle one of Rwanda's most pressing public health challenges. By focusing on evidence-based interventions and innovative approaches, we aim to create lasting improvements in maternal and child health outcomes.
Funded by the Gates Foundation and supported by King Faisal Hospital and the World Health Organization, our work represents a collaborative effort to ensure every Rwandan child has the opportunity to reach their full growth and developmental potential.
Vision: Healthy beginnings, stronger futures.
Mission: To deliver HealthyStart, an evidence-based initiative that strengthens health systems and ensures every Rwandan child is born healthy, nourished, and ready to thrive
This study runs from April to September 2025 and focuses on testing feasibility and delivery approaches of candidate interventions, validating digital tools, and understanding health facility readiness across 60 trial sites.
